LESSON PLAN
Unit Title: Farm Animals
Activity Name: Matching Farm Animals Picture
Age Group: 5 to 6 years old
Goal
of the Activity: (Using
Blooms Taxonomy as a guide, what specific skills are you targeting)
The specific skills that I am
targeting in this activity are knowledge and understanding about the farm
animals.
Objective:
At the end of the lesson, the
students will be able to match the given pictures of farm animals on the board
and identify what kind of animal.
Materials
Required: (All the
materials need for the lesson and the reinforcement activity)
- Book - On the Farm
- Laminated pictures of farm animals
Setting: (How is the classroom set up for the
lesson and the activity?)
The children will be sitting on
their own chairs facing on the board and must be quite in order for them to
understand and analyze when I give instruction to them about the activity.
Procedure: (List the steps to accomplish your goal
and the reinforcement activity)
- Gather all the materials needed for the activity and post one of each laminated animal pictures on the board while the other will remain in the container along with the other pictures.
- Ask the children one by one to go to the board to match the pictures correctly and identify what kind of kind of animal he matches.
Implementing
the Reinforcement Activity:
(List the steps to explain the activity)
If the objective above will be
met, the reinforcement activity will be word-picture matching.
- I will prepare some pictures and laminated words for the children to match.
- Setting will be almost the same as the procedure above.
Developmental
Focus: (What other areas
of development does this lesson and activity cover?)
Aside from cognitive skills,
this lesson and activity will also cover other areas of development which are
the fine motor skills, social and emotional skills.
Extensions: (How can you extend the focus of the
activity to encourage development in another area)?
I will ask the students about
the activity if they like it or not and if they want to have another activity
like this in the future. I will allow them to describe their emotions and also
ask them if they have experience going to the farm and how many farms animals
they saw.
