LESSON
PLAN
Unit
Title: Fall
Activity
Name: Painting Tree
Age
Group: 5 to 7 years old
Goal
of the Activity: (Using
Blooms Taxonomy as a guide, what specific skills are you targeting)
The specific skill that I am
targeting in this activity is to be creative.
Objective:
At the end of the lesson, the
students will be able to create or paint a tree.
Materials
Required: (All the
materials need for the lesson and the reinforcement activity)
- Book = Fall Leaves Fall
- Non - toxic paint of different colors
- Blank sheets for painting
- paintbrush
Setting: (How is the classroom set up for the lesson and the activity?)
The children will be sitting on
their own chairs preferably two children on each table facing each other in
order to have space.
Procedure: (List the steps to accomplish your goal
and the reinforcement activity)
- Gather all the materials needed for the activity.
- Make sure that there's enough space for them for painting. If tables are small, it should be one child only but if it is bigger table 2 children maybe can occupy.
- Let the children manipulate the materials and let them creative. They can use their arm to paint a trunk and fingers for the leaves.
Implementing
the Reinforcement Activity:
(List the steps to explain the activity)
If the objective above will be
met, the reinforcement activity will be tracing and lacing the leaves.
- I will ask the children to bring leaves (maybe 2 or 3) for the next activity which is tracing and lacing the leaves. This activity is good for hand-eye coordination.
Developmental
Focus: (What other areas
of development does this lesson and activity cover?)
Aside from cognitive skills,
this lesson and activity will also cover other areas of development which are
the fine motor skills, social and emotional skills as well as physical skills.
Extensions: (How can you extend the focus of the
activity to encourage development in another area)?
I will ask the students about
the activity if they like it or not and if they want to have another activity
like this in the future. I will allow them to describe their emotions and show
to the class their painting.
