Alphabet Knowledge
Target: To
teach the children recognizes letters.
Explanation: Alphabet
knowledge is believed to be the strongest predictor of later literacy,
according to Utah State University professor CD, Jones (2012). The activity I
made is to enhance the alphabet knowledge in a fun way. Children are very eager
to know about alphabets and they love silly things. Therefore, making fun about
letters is a fantastic way of learning and knowing them.
Activity: It’s Nice to know you Letters
To
start this activity, I will let the children sing the alphabet song. After they
sang, I will show a flash card with letters on them in different colors with
the pictures of animals, fruits and vegetables on the farm and each child will
pick letters and then say the letter they pick, what animals, fruits or
vegetables that is the same letter they pick. I will also ask about what is the
first letter is their name.
